Simple! Mawashi is what sumo-san wear. the cloth is alot longer and is made of different material. Fundoshi are mainly used for underwear, shorter piece of cloth.

It is a uniform in the sumo wrestling.
Mawashi that the Maku-uchi (wrestler of the first-grade) wrestlers uses is made of silk etc.
