Alternate title: That Weird Place Where You Have to Throw Frogs into Pitcher Plants.
Commission for robbo. Finished it last week, but kept forgetting to upload it! Silly me. You can also refresh for a larger version... I know it's hard seeing detail in something that's long!
Works in progress can be found on my tumblr!

Yup, it seems to be my mission in life. ;) And oops I even forgot one of my favorites!
There are a couple of pics by the awesome
yell0w_f0x of Nanaki as an Anthro - wearing clothes, even. I have to say it looks good on him.

Thanks very much!
You're putting words to something I can't explain very well, haha... you know your stuff! If you haven't already, I highly recommend checking out kuler... you can even upload paintings with their tools to sort of figure out how things click, so it's a great learning tool. Doing master studies for color/value never hurt either... grey is used a lot more than I would think. :0

Oh hey, thanks! Bookmarking that! I've seen sites like it, but probably none that nice, or with the feature to reverse engineer images. That's really awesome. I'm not nearly as confident in my coloured work as I'd like to be, and the vast majority of people commission me for sketches. I'm looking forward to trying this out when I get the chance though. :)
Thank you! Props to robbo for commissioning me to do it, though! ;)
Hey bb!
I wasn't sure if you read your comments at dA, so I figured, I would just comment here <3
I really, really love this picture!
Your way of drawing things is unique and just simply awesome, I love it everytime!
Also the scenery is great, and the character fits really well into it x3
And it makes a good desktop background <3 (Hope you don't mind <3)
Hope you are doing great

I'm seriously just so in love with pretty much every aspect of this piece; the way you controlled that value contrast to silhouette Red so beautifully against that pale green/yellow haze makes him stand out in the best possible way-- and those colors. GUH. THE COLORS. Red and green is a hard scheme to pull off without looking like some kind of twisty Christmas callback, but you did it super beautifully. And then there's the awesome design interpretation of his design in a more natural slant. And those luscious oily paint strokes that are so rich on a digital canvas. And uh. And everything. I'm a massive fan of both you and how beautifully this piece came out (and your others too); just OH MAN AAAH SUCH GORGEOUS NOSTALGIC FANART.
I loved Nanaki. He deserved more time spent on him and his character than he ultimately got in the final game. A small blemish on what is still a masterpiece of a game. Ah well, he got his own novella so I guess I can't complain too much.
The art itself is very well done, I love the detail you put into the BG. Just gorgeous all around.
