Amusingly, I first saw this in the recent submissions after having just finished Tom Kratman's Watch on the Rhine, which features a futuristic supertank (12 inch gun, about 7000 tons) called the Tiger III.

(Long story short, former Waffen SS members rejuvenated to fight an alien invasion; part of John Ringo's Posleen war series.)

Oh, that sounds really terrible。

Kratman's politics, which are quite visible in pretty much unappologetically everything he writes, is fairly hard to the right on the US political scale, so it's not for everyone, but reviving people from the Waffen SS makes sense in context. There are trillions of Posleen on their way to Earth, with tech far in advance of anything locally, and as part of the deal with the Galactics that are making much of their advanced equipment humans also have to help defend several other worlds, as the races of Galactic society are totally incapable of waging war of any kind thanks to the meddling of a mostly off-screen precursor race (who are also responsible for the Posleen being an interstellar threat).
