<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>Okay, first, sorry for the crappy picture. So out of practice! Plus, life's been making it hard for me to find time to art. As if you couldn't tell by the much delayed post.
Second, the turns got a little muddled, sorry. So technically, the combat round ends in the middle of this post. As Na'Nfr, Marissa and Whault all rolled lower on init then the enemies, they start the round off, and then Na'Nfr, Marissa and Whault get to declare their actions.
Surveying the villians who have boarded the ship, Sir Albus finds himself confronted by four disreputable looking pirates! A large chestnut and black horse catches his eye first, the equine dressed in scale mail, and wielding a longsword and shield. As this fellow seems intent on making his way towards the passengers(and the Dutchess!), he is the one that Sir Albus attacks.
1d20+3=12 vs ac 16 = miss due to armor(shield block!)
Charing forward, the cat wings his morningstar overhead in a mighty blow, shouting "Haha! Fight me Coward!" The horse seems perfectly content doing just that, turning and catching Albus' strike on his shield, the force of the blow driving him back a few inches, his long black mane and tail swishing behind him.
Stepping rappidly, but nimbly backwards, Mekkie lashes out, her whip wrapping several times around the berserker's axe handle, just under the head. She twists her body and gives a sharp jerk...
1d20+8=14 vs 1d20+1=5
The axe flying out of the bear's grip to clatter at her feet. Using the momentum from that disarm, the raccoon flicks her other whip out, the tip curling around her enemies' ankle. A quick jerk the other way...
1d20+8=16 vs AC 12
puts the bear down on her face yet again with a heavy thump and screach of rage, and this time disarmed!
The horse pirate grunts at the force of Albus blow, then strikes back at his feline opponant...
1d20=20 vs AC 20 = crit hit
1d8x2 = 8 damage
His broadsword swinging around in a wicked arc, just clipping past the top of Albus' shield. Sharp steel bites through Albus' chainmail, giving the cat a nasty cut on his shoulder.
Growling furiously, the berserkeress clambers back to her feet, grabbing her axe in the process. If looks could kill, Mekie would be in quivering, unrevivable chunks right now. Judging from the way the bear is hefting that wicket axe, she plans to do exactly that any moment now!
The other two attackers attempt to flank Sir Albus. The pirates' apparent commander, a rather flashily dressed feline sinuously moves up behind Albus and before the knight can react, the long-furred siamese stabs him in the back with a wickedly curved cutlass! Of course, it's kind of hard to stab someone in the back when they are wearing a breastplate! The clink of metal on metal and the jolt of the blow distracts Albus, causing him to turn slightly, a saving grace as an arrow whistles thorugh the space his exposed shoulder was just a moment before! The chocolate brown rabbit archer snarls angrily, then his expression changes to one of embarassment as the knight Sir Albus was fighting gasps in pain from the arrow sticking out of HIS shoulder!
Captain flanks and tries to hit Sir Albus
1d20+6 vs AC 20 = 16
Armor save vs attack, no damage
Rogue tries to shoot Sir Albus with bow(no flanking)
1d20+3=botch, hit horse
1d6=1 damage
The last member of the pirates growls an incantation under her breath and a crackling blue light flares in her wing-hand. The slim bat sorcereress sinuously slips around the pirate captain and presses her crackling wing-claw against Sir Albus' armored back. A jolt of electricity shoots through the cat's armor, causing the feline to stumble and almost drop his faithful morning star, Wit's End!
Bat casts shocking grasp and attacks Sir Albus
1d20+3+1 vs AC 13 = 20 - Hit
Damage: 1d6 = 2
Init rolls for newcomers on the scene:
Bad guys stick with original roll of 17
Na'nfr 1d20+6 = 15
Wahutl 1d20+2 = 15
Marissa 1d20+1 = 8
Albus = 7 (previous roll)
Mekie = 6 (previous roll)
Na'Nfr is the first of the rest of the party on the scene, the Swordsage bursting from the wheelhouse, followed closely by Whault who almost runs into the Anubian. Marissa is the last to join the party, the sorceress coming around the corner of the deckhouse just in time to see that bat give Sir Albus a jolt.
Na'Nfr, you're up first. Whault, your turn next, Marissa after that. Then it's Albus and Mekkie again, and finally the bad guys. Technically, they go at the beginning of each round, so this round started half-way through my most recent post.
