that's actually a PFD (Personal Flotation Device), it's used for drowning people to grab on to because of their instenctive reaction to grab on to the nearest floating object (If they grab the person holding it they might drag them down with them, but if they're drownign they can't tell the differnce) and then floated on top of using the chest of the victem while the lifeguard drags them to saftey (it has a rope for that reason, easy retereval of a drowning viicitm). So, theoretically he should sink trying to surf on that thing (his muscles look really nice though), and he would be fired for imporper use of safety equipment (i'm being a buzzkill right now aren't I) but also if it's effectively used as a weapon then it would be too heavy and it would sink (i sitll think it looks really good, keep it up.)

i was explaining the practical use of the PFD.

Basically put: it's made of light, floaty material so that it can be grabbed by a drowning person, due to the drowning automatically reacting to any movmeent by grabbing it and trying to float up.

I was always under the impression that that thing is a solid surfboard, not a PFD XD

nope. the shape is too unmistakable. the holes in it for handles owuld make water keep running into it, slowing you down.
