1877 Solid-Brass 16 Gauge shotgun shell

Here is a 16 Gauge Shotgun shell I found today...These were no longer manufactured after 1877, and this in the ONLY one I have ever seen in 16 Gauge. I found it across the road from my house at the site of an 1800's farm house.

That's just normal aging,,,This shell is ALMOST 140 YEARS OLD! Brass weakens and corrodes...I found a 1902 Indian Head Penny about 10 yards from where I found the shell...the penny had a GORGEOUS tourquoise blue Patina...
