I think he is more worried about surge protection, or lack of. You most likely aren’t using UPS at the time, because most commercial versions, with the exception of generators, are good for a few hours at most. Industrial grade UPS can be good for days under extremely heavy load, but they are also extremely expensive and space intensive.

Bit off topic of the pic, but I like the setup here. Two friends in a room during a storm with good pcs. Invokes a vibe of comfort which I feel was projected pretty well in this pic. Of course, that's off centered from the obvious TF that is bound to happen within the next few minutes.
