The Genasi (Not the D&D ones) are a race of sentient elementals given life and flesh, and upon each death they transform into a new body, a new life, and a new element. These new lives and bodies are completely random, if Melody were to die, her new life might not even be female, it certainly won't be a pony again at least for a while. But, that's the way the Genasi Reincarnation works.

As the High Queen of Ether a world that is both a moon and a large magical font (Basically a giant magic factory hence the name.) Melody is in charge of ruling her people with both grace and firmness.
