Avery vs. Chance.
They've been playing for a few hours now, exchanging victories back and fourth. Things seemed even at first, but as time went on, the balance begins to lean towards the wolf. Anxiety begins to build, intensity edges, and silence is directed upon the last hand, for all the chips.
Chance can see the huge grin across Avery's face, in the midst of the muggy dim room-- he's not bluffing. Chance knows the situation, and he's met not with anger, but rather just a sigh in despair. He knows what's coming.
Happy birthday, Chance!
A birthday commission from
croc to
redhaski. Arrow helped as well with the card situation.
This picture is a bit of a doozie. Details are very much present. Almost everything in the picture was done purposely, with a lot being metaphorical. I'll do a quick breakdown of just a few as examples:
The power-switch in the background is on Avery's side-- Avery is obviously the one in power at the moment.
The vodka bottle is on Chance's side, as well as an empty glass, to show how nerve wrecked Chance, ever since he began to lose.
There's a difference in chairs. Avery is feeling almighty in his big and cushioned chair, while Chance is feeling belittled in his short and non-cushioned chair.
The chopin guy is turned dog, as well as the queen on the cards out on the table.
The reflection of Avery's hand in his glass, as well as the olive in the vodka.
Et Cetera.
Happy Birthday Chance! I hope you have a good one. You've got damn good friends it seems. First tosh, then this?...then upcomming MFF? ;) Dayum.
Oh, and Avery is <3 I feel lucky, getting to be one of the first to draw him.

yeah and this one guy like flipped over the table and accused this other guy of cheating on one hand right behind me on another table and there was no proof he was just saying so because he kept one upping him by like the next best thing from what he had like four hands in a row or something like that we all had the O.o look to us X3
I won a tournament back in college once on a Q 5 off suite... I flopped a QQ5. Went all in, hoping to frighten off the other two and just take the pot, because I figured that wasn't going to stick. Both called me, and as I was the high chip, if I won, game was over. If that wasn't bad enough, though, I turned a 5 and rivered the final Q. One in a million chance.
I really don't know what to say that hasn't already been said. Being a good friend of Chance's (I've gifted him two stories thus far), I know this has everything that matters in his life. Except me, but I'm not nitpicky! Hee!
You may not post as often as most do, but when you do, it is bound to be a gorgeous piece of work, because I know how much you put into your art. Color and detail, but heart and soul as well. From the tip of Avery's nose to the paw on Chance's collar (I know that has significance), he will see this and smile and know he's loved. Because he is.
I hope he has a great birthday too. With friends like that, and all the stuff you mentioned, I'm sure he will.
Thanks for another masterpiece.

Stolen from http://www.digitalpeer.com/id/whyare, but it pretty much says what I wanted to say:
"The reason for this is found in our country's ripe history, when slavery was legal. Women would have a hand maid (either a slave or a less prominent women)that would dress them. It is easier to put on shirts if the buttons are on the right side since most people are right handed and so for someone else to put on your shirt then it is easier if the buttons are on their right side, your left. Having buttons on the left therefore was a sign of affluence and soon all women's shirts had buttons on the left. Men did not have someone to dress them therefore there buttons remained on the right while the women's migrated."

I just wanted something to commemorate all the times I've OWNED that husky in poker. *grin*
Maybe next time I'll let him win. ;)
Keto, you have gotten incredibly good. Seriously, ridiculously good. The little touches you added in addition to nailing every bit of detail I gave you... you're a kcufing ace. :)

yannoooooooo...for whatever reason keto, I was trying to think of the last drawing you did and submitted in this style that was clean. And to be perfectly honest....I couldn't remember at all ^^; (Had to backtrack and remembered you did that one of your tiger raccoon) Oddly enough, this was one of the rare occasions with my silly graphic designer eye that the first thing I noticed the surroundings first rather then the characters. Mostly...I blame the texas hold 'em player within me. But silly me, I noticed the pair of aces first and not the straight teehee, which is why i'm not that great of a poker player.
love the details keto, I'm sure if i stare long enough at it, i'd nit pick about something, but i'm lazy atm.
