As a child, I watched that episode in French on a Montréal station, without knowing what the program was; and when the Zantis appeared, I felt a genuine sense of shock and dread that lingered for the rest of that day.
I've watched it again recently: it's a dark political parable with quite a bit to say about our human tendency to see the worst in forms unknown... and with really cool monsters. I recommend it!
