What tools did you use to color this in? What was your steps from start to finish? I really love this style of coloring.

It's Manga Studio,
I use only Opaque Watercolor brush to paint this,
Important thing is to select paint area for painting, So you don't have to worry much about border.

This is indeed the "only" way for a saber-toothed tiger to perk up a friend! :D

I like how the tiger's visible ferocity contrasts the overall soft style of the portrait. If anything, you could say that makes him look even more vicious! His teeth are beautiful, as are his stripes; speaking of which, it's neat how the stripes get darker as they go up his body. They're appropriately bold when you reach his angry brow and cutting eyes! Lastly, the texture and design of his mane are very cool. ^^

Also, is it just me, or does this scene strongly resemble Tora-san and Ookami-san from the anime "Shirokuma Cafe," when Tora was trying to fiercely get Ookami to cheer the hell up after quitting his previous bakery job? Even if that's not the case, I can't help but see those when I look at this simple yet wonderful piece of art! It'd make a great tribute to them.
