when I found out I could make a minotaur in Shadowrun, I said yes alot. After reading up, they aint cows, but FUCK IT WHATEVER he's my ceramic boned, 8ft Savate/Capoeira beast of a runner. My first, so nothing too complex, but whatever :
'Havoc' was the property of a small mechanics business owner who would let him out to Shadow Runners as muscle. Bred to fight and tweaked to destroy, Havoc was originally a get rich quick scheme for the underground pit fighting. Their winning streak created enemies that they had to deal with, and as such, their career ended. Havoc's owner was left with a large, well trained brute with no real use, until he decided to become more involved in the Shadow Runner's affairs.
Havoc is treated with the care you'd expect to give a pet, and though aware, Havoc accepts this and learnt to stay quiet and focused to stay alive and well. He is not mistreated, but knows he is an expendable asset, and his owner is simply the only one who will at least give him a home and the freedom to be as normal as society would let him be. He finds a small joys in combat, never backing down from the prospect of a good fight to test his surprisingly nimble martial ability for a beast his size. When he needs calm, he finds it in tinkering with and restoring obsolete electronic or mechanical devices, and has a thing for analogue watches and other old technology, especially in what makes them work. This hobby has developed some flexible and careful fingers, perfect for picking old locks. Due to the many knocks he's had in the pits, he has developed partial deafness in both ears, which is countered by his owner teaching him normal sign language.
While he is an incredibly skilled martial artist and quite resourceful in combat, his mindset is very simple. He understands being pointed in the direction he must go and will generally obey, when the order makes sense at least, since he trusts in his own survival instincts morseo than in a strangers. He is fully aware of his academic limits, instead staying aware of situations where his particular set of skills and brute strength can help. As such, he cannot read, doesn't speak beyond one word answers, will always require simple instructions and rarely holds interest in anything beyond trinkets, fighting, training and surviving.
So yeah, I'll probably be streaming my first Shadowrun campaign at some point, stay tuned for it guys!
