the kid knows his dad doesnt know how to get it set up, so he is ensuring that Rain will have to come over to do it
also the phrase "always welcome" sounds a lot better than "never not welcome"

I know "always welcome" sounds better. But i chose "never not welcome" on purpose. Rick used a double negative to directly address Rain's negative "overstayed". Rick using "always welcome" i thought would have been more appropriate if Rain's last phrasing was a positive or a neutral.
