A short story I wrote during my Short Story Saturday stream I did alongside
RockyTheProcy's Free Sketch Friday stream (4/2/16). This story was won by
arw94, who decided to indulge a little by seeing a Pokkén match take an interesting direction when a Braixen tries to even the odds between itself and the Charizard it is fighting against. Of course, nothing will be very even once the magical fennec is done with the big dragon.

“And it’s a beautiful day, ladies and gentlemen, for a Pokkén tournament! With all the excitement building, we now stand in the finals match to see who will take home the title of Pokkén Master! And it looks like there is some stiff competition for that title!”
“Oh yes Kiero, some stiff competition indeed. While we all expected the local heavyweight Charizard to Rock Smash his way to the top, I’ll bet no one expected his challenger to get anywhere up this mountain!”
“Too right Rikku! No one ever expected that this particular Braixen would trump all of its competition to reach the finals match, and I gotta say, it pulled off some impressive feats to beat everything that stood in its way. I’m actually a little concerned for the Charizard, as its throne might not be as secure as its trainer thinks!”
“We’ll have to see, as this match is about to begin!”
In the Ferrum Stadium, the competitors were preparing to face off in epic combat. The sky was cloudless for this match, and the sparkling waterfall acted as the perfect background for the battle of flame. On the left Charizard, on the right Braixen. The orange dragon grinned cockily at its diminutive opponent, its trembling paw holding onto the stick it used for a magic wand. “<Cute that you got this far runt, but this is where your luck runs OUT!>” the Charizard boasted while grinding its fist into its claw.
The small fennec fox trembled nervously, but it kept its stance bravely despite its nerves trying to get the better of it. “<It wasn’t luck you overgrown lizard! I’ll beat you down like the Gengar and Lucario who looked down at me!>” he retorted with a quivering voice.
“<HA! Luck’s luck runt, and I’ll prove it by beating ya in this match!>” the Charizard vowed.
“Seems the competitors are really getting into this! Of course, we have no idea what they’re saying, but no doubt they’re ready to lay into each other on this Pokkén tournament’s final match! SO LET’S GET INTO IT!”
Taking their positions in the arena, Charizard roared loudly, as he does, while Braixen twirled its stick like a baton, before throwing it up and catching it again. “FIGHT!”
Roaring loudly, Charizard took the advantage with an early Fire Punch, his bulk sailing through the air with a flaming fist. The Braixen nimbly dodging out of the way, the dragon swapped into its flying stance, his mighty wings catching the air as he spiralled around. Right fist glowing with energy, he prepared to unleash a Dragon Claw as he dive bombed the fennec. Swivelling his stick, Braixen unleashed a devastating Fire Spin attack, the tornado of flames knocking the lizard to the ground hard. “OOOOO! CHARIZRD JUST TOOK A HARD FALL! THAT WAS A NICE COUNTER FROM THE BRAIXEN!”
Grunting loudly, Charizard recovered from his tumble, just in time to avoid a Psybeam from the Braixen. Snarling lividly, the dragon’s burning rage became an inferno from the smug grin the fennec Pokémon had. “<Better, urgh, better wipe that smug grin off your face. You got a lucky hit, but now the kiddy claws are off>” Charizard snarled.
“<I TOLD YOU!>” Braixen snapped in annoyance, “<it’s not luck, it’s skill and training. Though it’s not like a brute like yourself would understand that.>”
The smug little creature copped a fireball for that remarked, its lithe frame sliding along the hard ground. Grunting hard, its eyes opened only for its body to get grabbed hard by Charizard. Spiralling into the air, they immediately dropped from the air, ending in a devastating Seismic Toss attack. Braixen wheezed loudly from the impact, its body left in a cracked crater as it desperately tried to refill its lungs with air. “<Okay…,>” it groaned weakly, “<maybe there is something to brute force>” it admitted begrudgingly.
This wasn’t looking too good. While it would be good at countering, Charizard had easily more strength and vitality than it did; and without support Pokémon, it was very likely that it was going to lose. “<HA HA HA!>”
Oh come ON! That was just unsportsmanlike. Charizard was laughing hard at him as he managed to drag his body from the crater. “<Urgh…>” Braixen groaned, its left leg shaking. This was bad, its leg was hurt, and there was no way it could hope to win like this. As much as it didn’t want to, it was going to have to resort to magic to win this one. Breathing calmly, the fennec grasped its twig. Moving its wrist carefully, it sketched out a flaming sigil: Two circles, one within the other. Slowly, the inner circle grew, until it outsized the other circle. Spinning its stick about, Braixen twirled the sigil into a fireball, which it launched right at the boastful lizard. Without even seeing the attack coming, the fireball sank into the dragon’s stomach, rather than impacting on its body. The act seemed to break it out of its laughter at least, given the sudden intense warmth in its body. “<Huh?>” Charizard muttered, a claw to its stomach. Suddenly, its eyes went wide and smoke fumed from its open maw. “<WHAT?!>”
Without warning, its stomach expanded rapidly, adding several pounds to the dragon’s weight class. Teeth wrenched in absolute fury, Charizard glared at his opponent while trying its best to keep its swollen belly from hitting the ground. “<What did you DO?!>” he roared angrily.
“<I’m just evening the playing field, and making you too heavy to fly. I can’t, so now you can’t>” Braixen smirked.
As angry as it was, Charizard could do naught but bear witness to its transformation. Though originally soft, its cream coloured belly was now quadruple soft as it swelled larger, the expansive magic seeping into its chest. Blushing with minor embarrassment, the dragon tried to play off the fact that its sort-of pectorals were now very visible, and deliciously plump. Folding its claws modestly, Charizard’s burning embarrassment grew as its chest pushed against its folded arms, slowly breaking the lock while his elbows rested upon the upper shelf of its creased belly. BWOMP! For the first time in a very long time, the lizard’s lips pursed up in shock as it felt its tail sitting on something soft. Craning his head around, Charizard’s eyes widened as its rump had just exploded in size, his refined rear now bowling balls that hung below his thickening tail. “<S-STOP THIS!>” Charizard demanded.
“<I told you, I win with skill and ability. Although, out of respect, I will say that you’re the first opponent that has made me use my magic>” Braixen admitted.
“<BUT THAT’S CHEATING!>” Charizard insisted, both of its chin nodding in agreement to his claim.
“<You flying could be considered cheating. You have your advantages, I have mine>” Braixen informed the lizard as it twirled its twig. “<I’m just balancing the scales with a little break in your mobility.>”
Grunting loudly, Charizard strained and groaned from the weight of its enormous gut. It hung off him like a heavy sack, the underside squishing against the ground, creating that lovely disk shape you see from the uber fats. Its chest was so big and plush that it had given up trying to hide it in favour of attempting to lift up its bulky belly. But even that was failing as its trim and angular shoulders BLORPED! gratuitously. Charizard’s neck slowly sank into its swiftly rounding collar, its trim arms weighed down by cake batter-like fat filling them up as if there was a hose inserted into them. Groaning loudly, the dragon stomped towards the Braixen, its entire body trembling from each powerful, ground cracking stomp. With every step, a few extra pounds piled onto its already thick legs, making them even wider and less agile each time. Its knees had sunk into the thicker blubber of its pillar-like legs, and they trembled from trying to move its bulk. Charizard’s tremendous gut slapped the ground hard with each step, seeping out further and further as its definition faded into pure fats. “<Okay, the spell should be ending now>” Braixen remarked, only for its jaw to drop.
Charizard didn’t stop gaining weight, he started gaining it faster. His belly surged outwards from the enormous tide of adipose taking up the space beneath its flesh. The poor lizard groaned loudly, its tongue hanging out from the strain and effort keeping its body up, while a thick layer of sweat added in an attempts to cool down its hot body. Trying to take another step forward, the poor guy’s body gave out, its legs buckling and sending it crashing onto its enormous, garbage can sized rear. “<Uuuuuuurrrrrffff>” he whined on impact, his body jiggling and jostling about. “<Please, stop this>” Charizard begged.
“<I... I can’t>” Braixen admitted sheepishly. “<I never made a counter-spell, because I thought I could control it. The spell is kinda… untested, aheh heh heh>” it meekly admitted while scratching the back of its head.
The poor lizard groaned loudly, rubbing at its straining middle. So enormous now, it jutted out several feet, and it cascaded over four different folds in its blubber. Charizard’s claws sank into his fingers, becoming sad little nubs as he continued to rub at his capacious midsection. Thick lines ran along the places his fingers impacted, creating even more creases as his weary claws raked at his bloated gut, occasionally getting stuck in the larger fat flaps as he continued to expand. BWOMP! His thick moobs expanded dramatically again, both fat pillows resting atop his mountainous gut. Oh Arceus they were so big and soft, and heavy. Everything hung off of him, weighing him down dramatically, adding more strain to his body, widening the thick disk of blubber beneath his belly, as well as the two gradually widening ones on his thick rump. Every one of his thick and ragged breaths sent tremors through his body, rippling his fat rump and belly again and again, making him resemble a plate of orange jelly.
Braixen nibbled at his stick nervously as his opponent continued to grow, the dragon’s size growing far beyond his expectations. Charizard’s waistline was already wider than it was tall, or, was it? Much to the fennec’s surprise, the big lizard was growing taller as it grew wider, which practically doubled the growth of blubber. The nervous fox took some hesitant steps back, before realizing it was on the boarders of the battle arena. If this kept up, Charizard was going to outgrow the stage. BLORP! BWOMP! GURGLE! With every strange noise, the lizard’s growth exploded outrageously, its body swamped by its enormous sea of belly, its hedonistically huge chest, and the dumpster sized rump it camped on. All you could see of Charizard’s tail was the flame on its tail poking out of the gap between his fat back, and enormous ass crack. The dragon’s padded chest slurped its neck up like a noodle, Charizard’s bloated head resting atop a shelf of bosom as its chins merged with them. The gargantuan lizard groaned loudly as its cheeks ballooned, making its face look terrifically small in comparison. The arena steadily grew very cramped as the flood of dragon filled it, a wall of orange and cream headed right for the fennec who started it all. “<Oh dear>” Braixen whimpered, its stick falling from its hand. BWORP!
Crying out loudly, Charizard’s tremendous gut crashed down on the puny fennec, crushing its body beneath its enormous, arena filling body of blubber. The dragon’s body wobbled like the ocean, the contents of its lardy body gurgling loudly. And within that ocean, was the tiny island of his face. Charizard’s cheeks wobbled about, each looking like a watermelon was stuffed into them as it wore its flabby tyre of a collar like a fancy ruff. Its eyes closed, its energy stock exhausted from the strain of managing its porcine frame. All it could feel was its tremendous bulk rubbing up against everything, as well as the Braixen beneath its gut, and the poles digging into its enormous butt. “Well, uh, huh….”
The audience and the commentators were stumped by this, as, well, no one had ever seen this sort of win before. Shifting through the rules, the referee found what he was after. Passing his judgement to the commentators, Rikku nervously spoke. “So, uh, the referee has put the win in Charizard’s favourite, by technical pin” he declared awkwardly.
Beneath the enormous dragon’s bulk, a loud and annoyed moan came out. And from the center of it all, Charizard grinned. “<Told you runt that your luck would run out>” he smirked, knowing full well that Braixen couldn’t hear him.
The awards host didn’t really know where to stick the trophy Charizard won, so, it was stuck in a fat fold. They say victory was worth the price, and needing to be put on a diet was a fair price to pay for the championship, especially when it came to showing up a lucky and cocky Braixen to boot. The smaller Pokémon wasn’t so lucky, as it took quite a while for it to be pulled out from under Charizard’s bulk. It was a little sore, but so much wiser for the experience. “<I think it will be better to rely on skill and ability, rather than magic to win a match>” it reflectively decided.
