Finished full illustration commission for Almonihah! His playful giant gryphon, Zakhin’Dahk, has an affinity for maps. The poor local cartographer puts up with his insatiable curiosity for her work, looks like her cat is used to the bird by now. Thankfully he’s well known and as gentle as he can be in town, so while he’s quite a sight he isn’t a danger! Well, at least to anyone other than those flowers he keeps knocking over.

is it weird that the strangest thing I noticed in this fantasy setting is that they had scotch tape to put up that lil map in the window?

Also love everything about this, esp the kid marveling at the big pigeon :3

I was too busy at all the detail in the feathers, talons and bricks that I didn't notice the gryphon backside poking out there. I legitimately thought it was a giant eagle. :V

I absoloutely love the level of detail here. The overturned pot, the way he fingers are smooshed under his weight, eve the blurry guy coming up the hill. Love love love it!

He looks like an Airbus landing in town and asking for the way. And with his hindlegs vanishing in the distant fog/blurr and his tail going over the roof he IS as big as an airbus.

I think my favorite part of the image is the pidgeons, that beautiful iridescence you put on them. Don't know why but I really enjoy it!!!
This whole image is just so beautifully surreal. It's lovely <33 From the expressions on the humans to the feathers on the griffon!
