This is a design for a locomotive for a "Steam Punk" themed story brewing in the back of my head. Don't have a name or a concreat plot yet but regaurdless.
This is the Victorian State Railway's "Fire Fly" class 4-2-2 Passenger locomotive. The Locomotive was built by the Sterling Locomotive and Iron Works. The engine's main Drive Wheel is roghly 7' in diamiter alowing it to attain speeds in excess of 70 to 80 mph. Or faster depending on the engine crew. Although great for speed their tractive effort is severely lacking. The Fire Flys cannot pull long trains, infact they're generaly limmited to about 5 cars per train. The Fire Flys are among some of the Railways' older locomotives.
These engines remained in service for many years and work hand in hand with they're predisessors, the "Lakeshire" class.

Well I'm gald you like it! Not bad for a steam locomotive that never existed!
I've got another locomotive like this, though a bit larger. I call it the "Lakeshire" class.

Well then you should LOVE my gallery! It's loaded with drawings of trains! Though mostly of the American variety. And mostly Narrow Gauge ones at that.
The main character in the comic I'm wrking on is a railroader, a locomotive engineer specifically, so the railroad he works on is an focal point in the story.

Sorry for the late responses, I've had my plate pretty full as of late.
I am predominantly an enthusiast of US railways and equipment. ESPECIALLY Turn of the Century Narrow Gauge! However I do have a soft spot for more European equipment and a mild interest in Broad Gauge. Hence why I created this, the Firefly.
I've got a 4-4-0 version also!
