Hi, there. For a while now, I've been thinking of streaming some 3D modeling, since it would help me keep motivated and focused on actually getting it done rather than opening Blender for five minutes at a time because I can't be arsed. This is something I haven't gone through for a bunch of reasons:
MODELING AIN'T LIKE DRAWING
With someone streaming themselves drawing, they can usually get one sketch done is about five or ten minutes, and a more fleshed out drawing could take the entire stream, but there's still something going on where everyone can kinda understand what's happening and how much progress has been made.
3D modeling is waaay slower. An hour of furious modeling would probably amount to topologizing an arm and hand or something. The closest thing to sketching, I.E. simpler drawing that takes less time, would be making simple props, and that's not very interesting. Plus, it's much more technical, with a lot of stuff going on that might not make sense to people who haven't dabbled in modeling before, like that big word I said earlier, "topologizing". Overall, it's not as satisfying to watch as drawing.
I AM TERRIBLE
Seriously, I'm horrible. I have no idea what to talk about at all times because I have no soul or hobbies. Some of this could be alleviated by doing one of those dual-streams on Pictaro, but that'd require starting a conversation to set it up. I'm exaggerating here, but me doing commentary on my own is not going to be fun for anybody.
WHO CARES???
This is the biggie. What's the point of streaming if the only person watching is that one friend who just feels like he HAS to watch because I linked him to the stream? Is there any actual demand for this, is it worth my time and bandwidth?
So I have to ask; If I streamed 3D modeling for an hour or two at a time, with bangin' beats and absolutely no commentary, would anyone be interested? Would you watch me shut up and model? This probably isn't going to happen for a while, though.
This proposal brought to you in Blender, rendered in Cycles.

So much 3D in my subbmissions today...
You and me both when it comes to modeling for less than 5 minutes... Sadly, modeling really isn't that interesting of a watch, nor is topology. Stuff is insanity.
Sadly, understandable. But, for some, they probably won't mind.
And. Extremely understandable... Sorry... Always feel sorry going into someones stream and there's only 1-2 viewers...
Sadly, I never give myself time to watch streams...
