As if being trapped inside a metal body wouldn’t be traumatic enough for Dimitri, he soon realized how much worse his situation was.
The roboticizer used to transform him was once the in the possession of Dr. Robotnik, stolen by the Dark Legion for their own use. The Legionares were not aware that Robotnik recently set the roboticizers to cause great physical damage to anyone that uses it without first entering a secret code; an indirect method of bringing punishment to those that would steal from him. Thus, it wasn't a smooth transformation from organic to metal like it should've been.
When he came to in this new form, he beheld the horror of his hideously skewed metal prison. Though indeed overwhelming, his outer appearance was the least of his concerns. Since it hardly stabilized itself in it's weak condition, it would’ve brought to him a slow and agonizing death if he did not find a way to return to his previous form soon.
In other words...to survive, he had to become Enerjak again.

So like the Uncle Chuck thing, the DL have Dimi Roboticized to save his life... but unlike the Uncle Chuck thing it turns out to be a big mess. Dimi was already aware that he would not be the same at all, but didn't know it would be this bad. So he's clearly upset- he was still going to die soon, and stacked on top of it was looking like a train wreck (With missing pieces, wires all over the place, stuff bent out of shape, etc) and suffering a great amount of pain.
Why do I do this to the ones I love? Because I get to have fun working with detail hehe. Come now, Dimitri, don't be mad at me- be grateful, as I have you become Enerjak again =P
