Here’s a story of this lucky cat.
About 1.5 months ago my gay fag gf and I were hanging out in the city centre. I was going to head home when we saw a cat. We fucking love cats. Some drinking men called him, but he ignored them and approached us. She picked him up and he didn’t mind at all. He was so small and brittle we thought he was 7 month old, not older, but later the vet told us he was probably a bit older than 1 year. He looked like he hasn’t eaten for a few weeks (weighed 2500 gramms!), was heavily infested with fleas and his ears were, idk, torn? bitten? burnt? And lots of smaller wounds all over his body.
I have to mention that I’ve never felt an urge to take a stray cat home. I mean, I have 2 cats already and a pup, and this cat may be ill, and what if my pets will die because of that? So I was very shocked about this thought, but I felt I HAD TO take him home. He would die on the streets! It’s a miracle he lived long enough to meet me. Coincidentally, my gf lived nearby, so we took him and headed to her place to take a carrier and some anti-flea stuff.
The first night was difficult. I barely slept. He didn’t want to sleep where I wanted him to sleep and tried to lie on me. Fleas, fleas everywhere! After I sprayed him with anti-flea shit it became worse, they went maaaad and ran for their lives (all over me, of course). In the morning my gf visited me and we spent the day washing him and treating his wounds. In a week we went to the vet and had him vaccinated.
Now he is a perfectly healthy super cute and loving boy named Bundy. He is verrry talkative. And! Most important! He knows how to use his litter box :D
I'm so proud of us.

He wasn't, I'm going to take him to the vet on that matter tomorrow (I was kind of afraid he wouldn't make it before, being all starved and stuff).
Unfortunately, these programs barely work where I live. Stray problem is either solved by some animal-hating psychos who leave poisoned treats in grass (animals die suffering, and usually they are not even stray), or not solved at all. Shelters are overcrowded (and also people who run them are pretty weird). I tried to adopt a puppy from one of these shelters, and it was quite an experience D: After lying to me about that dog I wanted being already taken, they just refused and asked me not to call anymore o_O Without ever meeting me. And things like this happened to a looot of my friends. "You are too young" ('m fucking 23), "you are not married", "you are married so you'll get a child soon and abandon your pet", "your hair is too pink".
By the way, that dog I wanted is still in shelter. I wonder whhhhyyyy are they overcrowded?.........................
