One of the big "level ups" for me was realizing that, in Illustrator, you could
move the two vector handles off a point independently of each other.
This, with a little grid snappage, helped me make this image and a couple more
in this style, which seemed to me to have a kind of Northwest American Indian
thing going on.

this is highly relevant to my interests - the thing that completely amazes me about NWC native art is how it's all fantastically symmetrical, especially on the huge wall pieces. i mean what the hell, thats some serious talent. i love the little beehive and his claws - this interestingly also kind of resembles a japanese family crest, whether intentional or not it's a very cool mesh :)
