I think you ought to know I'm feeling very depressed...
I was feeling kind of down, didn't feel like doing anything; so I drew this.
I think it helped, I feel better now.

Here I am, brain the size of a planet and the artist didn't even bother to shade me...
I still have this terrible pain in all the diodes down my left side.
Life? Don't talk to me about life...

We have a little bit of Marvin in all of us.
He's had plenty of time to make sure of this, since the compound effects of time travel have made him 36 times older than the age of the universe by the time he finally gets around to seeing God's Final Message.

If you ever have a chance, find a copy of the old BBC radio play of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." The voice actor and character design of Marvin is spot-on faithful to Douglas' style.
Douglas Adams is one of the few authors I will read. I read all five (or is it six) books of the "trilogy."
As for me, I'm heading off to hitchhike with the dolphins...

I actually have listened to that before on tape, it was what made me read the actual book (since I got a single book with the entire completely inaccurately named trilogy in 5 parts). Also saw the 2005 movie and (tried to) play the text adventure.
I've yet to watch the TV series, though.

Oh, the BBC TV series isn't worth it. Don't bother. I know I watched it, but all I remember was the disappointing ending.
There was no way I was going to even attempt the movie. Disney destroys everything it touches ("Snow Dogs" was originally a documentary about sled dogs, bought by Disney and turned into that mess.)
I have a video rant about Disney and what they did with Furtopia...

I have a vastly different perspective, and cannot enjoy such things as a result. The last film I saw in a theater was Ender's Game (which I have since downloaded as a means of inspiring myself to think heavily). Before that it was Hugo. That I did enjoy, and was the last film I enjoyed in a theater as a film.
For me, movies are strictly used for their designed purpose - to affect my emotions. Having studied propaganda all my life, and in recent years coming to understand just how powerful and prolific it is; movies to me are now tools for inspiration and affectation of my emotional state. They allow me to concentrate my wandering mind, such as when I watch the ridiculous Water World, to inspire myself to think about sailing and surviving the collapse of industrialized society.
Anyway, don't let me spoil the fun. Enjoy.
