Well, yes. All it cared about was eating and growing (and torturing people for fun while doing so, apparently).
The supposed jock protagonist dying the single most gory death of the entire movie, right out of the gate, marked it as an above average Monster Mash. ^.^
(Come to think of it, a truly twisted Vaporeon wouldn't make a half bad Thing, as in the John Carpenter movie, either).
