Hello everyone! With the launch of the Patreon for The Leopard Sun,
balaa and I have begun unveiling concept artworks for the story!
Today we would like to share with you a piece called Eclipsed.
The Golden Eye descendeth
From lofty heaven unto earth
As pride and truth he came.
The warrior’s gaze
He gifteth on the chosen few.
In courage wrath he set the sky aflame
So weaker beasts in darkness cower.
We are his eye all seeing
Let judgment pass beneath our claws
and courage surge in psalm to him
who gave us strength to rule the earth
The poem above is an early concept of a psalm based on the Sun-centric mythology of the lions. Due to the lions' belief in the supremacy of the Sun's power, the solar eclipse (which few ever witness, occurring only once every ~400 years at any given location) is considered an ill omen.
In the scene depicted above, the powerful pride leader, Amandla, observes a solar eclipse with a sense of apprehension.
We will be releasing concept artworks on the second & fourth Monday of each month, Patrons who back the project will receive the following:
- Advanced preview of the artwork, 1 month ahead of the general public.!
- EXCLUSIVE access to high-resolution file of all artworks posted!
- EXCLUSIVE access to concept sketches, posted on the first & third Monday of each month!
- EXCLUSIVE access to work-in-progress of upcoming paintings!
- Special LIFETIME REWARDS that allows you to earn the finished book as well as a number of exclusive bonuses!
Please come check us out on Patreon! And stay tuned for more artworks next month!

I actually had a solar eclipse to be witnessed, here in germany, in 2001 I think. bosses gave us free for the afternoon, too.
and what happened? clouds contracted, so all you had was shadows. :(
there ain't no justice.
