I really liked Toriko. The AI is somewhat buggy - it can be a near-impossible task to get him/her to do certain things, and s/he responds readily to some commands, but other very similar ones are totally ignored.
That being said, Toriko is an incredibly realistic looking and acting animal. For heaven's sake, they gave Toriko a visible vent, and you get a trophy for catching them in the act of pooping! They really went all out to make Toriko seem real, and it was easy to get immersed in their world.
(I refer to Toriko as a 'hyena pseudogryph', but that's just my nerdy take on the critter).

Oh yeah, the game definitely had flaws, the AI was ridiculous at times and the controls felt clunky.
despite that I really enjoyed playing it, I hope we get more games in the future that really focus on creature design and their behaviour and how they interact with the environment.
