Character Descriptions

Hugo: The second most dominant male from a band of gorillas originating in the African Congo, he was selected to be part of a South African corporate-led scientific experiment into enhancing animal intelligence, strength and subservience for the purpose of being used as an alternative labor resource. The experiment resulted in the gorilla being given human-level intelligence, human language-capable vocal chords, and highly enhanced musculature, however efforts at a subservient personality failed as the gorilla became self-aware almost immediately. However, he was also empathetic and non-hostile, leading a group of scientists to sue the corporation and advocate for the rights of intelligent non-human species (whether naturally or artificially gifted with sentience). The case won in favor of the scientists, and the gorilla was released to an advocacy group that worked closely with superheroes, offering him the opportunity to find employment and a satisfactory life. Eventually he found an offer given to him by the wealthy philanthopist who helped fund the experiment which gave Hugo consciousness in the first place, and he now resides as a personal valet to Donovan, and business partner to his illustrious organization.

Donovan Khün: Suffering a genetic abnormality at conception, his hereditary genetic sequence carrying Neanderthal DNA became the predominant genome during his birth, resulting in a physiology similar to that of the ancient human cousin. As such, in his adult years Donovan is now a towering figure of herculean proportions. Seeking to perfect himself in body and mind, he is highly intelligent despite his Cro-Magnon looks, and has managed to become a wealthy millionaire who frequently donates to scientific causes. One such donation was sent to the organization who altered Hugo the gorilla, and after the gene-modified ape accepted an invitation offered to him, the two met and agreed to work towards their shared goals side by side.
