The Golden Eagle's gaze is intense and unwavering. It gazes over the fields, waiting for a twitch of movement that will signal the beginning of the chase.
I started this scratchboard months ago while visiting a friend in Colorado. We'd just come back from the NAFA falconry field meet and I had an itch for scratchboard an eagles. But then I forgot about it until a few days ago, and finally finished it.

Yes it was my first NAFA meet. I'd been to the NYSFA meet a few times in the past, it this was my first NAFA meet. It was incredible. I went on several hunts (two with golden eagles) and it was an amazing experience. I may be moving to Colorado this year, which means I may finally get into falconry.
Oh! Congrats on the relocation. Falconry is the bomb out west. My fav meet was California Hawking Club at Lake Topaz (right on the Nevada border). It was there that I got to go with some falconers on a hunt with a golden eagle too. I hope you get to follow that dream all the way! ^v^
