And the second old timey taur I got from
AgroPuer
This tiger, probably the son of a British governor and an Indian tiger woman, is out for a hunt in the deepest jungle.
This turned out super wonderfully! I think I have a new favourite! His tiger body is so delightfully furry!
Due to miscommunication (seriously, there needs to be different names for a taur with an anthro upper half and a taur with a human upper half) Agropuer gave me the first sketch with a tiger upper body. And it looked wonderful too! I'll have to get him to finish it as a second version sometime.

I know, couldn't you just die for all that wonderful furriness? His tigery body is just begging to be hugged and squeezed and fondled. I want to run my fingers through his lushious furry coat.
Snakes would be allowed to squeeze, so long as they're gentle.
Might work. I was thinking of that too. Because you've obviously got centaurs vs equitaurs. But centaur has obvious horsiness associated with it. (Or would a tiger centaur be a horse lower body with an anthro tiger top?)

Er-erm-ermm... I'll promise to be gentle! Just wanna toy with all that fur O.O
Well, that's up for debate as well! Perhaps an increase in usage of rather obscure terms like tigaur or felitaur would help remove the confusion then. Still, it's too niche a topic (unfortunately) at the moment to set anything in stone

1) Maybe a little weird, and 2) definitely super weird! I'd guess a taur guy would see the creature of his lower half like we see a chimpanzee. But back in the day of big game safaris they certainly didn't have too many moral qualms about hunting anything though. You have to remember, this was before Al Gore invented the environment. These were the days of bag the creatures, burn the coal, slash and burn. So Tigers could definitely be their game.
Though I think that would be a waste of a good tiger. I say traq them, then find some zoodoo shaman lady to merge the tigers with humans to make more huggable snugglable tigertaurs!

In my classification (which I came up to categorize my porn pic collection), I use the term "centauroid" to specifically refer to taurforms with human (or nearly human) upper bodies.
I just use "furry taur" for a creature that has an upper body of an anthropomorphic animal.
And the terms like "felitaur" or "canitaur" (in my opinion) simply refer to any 'taur (both with a furry or non-furry upper body) with a feline or canine lower bodies.
I really haven't been able to figure out what term to call furry taurs with different base species for their lower and upper bodies yet.
There aren't many of those around, but they are very interesting.
And, regarding the above pic, wouldn't the centauroid tigertaur be in serious danger if there are any other hunters nearby? It would only take a few moments of leaving his "rear end" exposed for him to become someone else's trophy himself.

I like centauriod vs furrytaur. My main aim was to avoid using taur for either of them, keeping that as a general term for all of them. And I wanted to avoid centaur, so as not to steal it from the horsebutts. Your classification does both nicely.
I like centauriod. I'll have to think about furrytaur, I think I still might like feraltaur better. But I could get used to using anything that starts to become the norm. Either way I think the next step is to get everyone to start using the terms.
We need a centauriod and furrytaur/feraltaur awareness day! :D
I think you're right, the dual species taurs, while cool, are super niche.
You're right there also! I didn't think of that. Yep for that reason, I think he probably hunts alone, deeper in the jungle than any humans usually go. In modern days, taur hunters probably wear reflective vests on their lower halves. But, I think the turn of the century was pretty blasé with safety. So taur hunters were told to keep their wits about them, walk it off if they get shot, and told to get at it with a smack on the furry butt.
