I forgot how old Misty is. But for myself, I did have to grow up a little and learn to not overreact about things.

Misty left herself WIDE open for that comment and it was well deserved. Not defending Cot too much, he still did wrong but she didn't have to take it this far.

Still enjoying this comic, though!

I think Lyle is a little out of line. After all, this wasn't Misty's idea. Lyle dumped a raw, hormonal youth into her care, knowing the kid was pretty wound up. No, Misty isn't a parent, but she got suckered into the deal against her better judgement, and that falls back squarely into Lyle's lap.

I think it's just a reaction. He's probably more on the defense where Cot is concerned.

Sure he is -- CYA and all that, and the best defense...

I'm surprised that he didn't snap and yell at her. Lyle is a way better person than I cam.

But Ouch... Misty might have BEEN a parent, eventually, but not likely now...
And Cot has another person he feels doesn't want him around...

And that should be the biggest reason for defending Cot. Who else is he going to turn to now, apart from Lyle?

I'm proud of Lyle for standing up for himself. He's becoming more conscientious of what he does and how he acts. He's maturing. He makes mistakes like any person would but he's making progress. All while getting crap off everyone for not doing it as quickly or the way other people think he should. (Misty & shaloma) I love Misty but she is very judgemental and she isn't very aware of how that comes off to people. She can also be thoughtless and passive aggressive (the blind date anyone?). I think people are finally letting her know that (Juniper and now this from Lyle). It's something she needs to hear and Lyle needs to start standing up for himself. I, for one, enjoyed this comic quite a bit for it.

Its strange that Lyle is the more mature one here. Glad as hell that I'd be cringing behind a wall or something, fleeing the scene.
