It has to be noted, that my fursona, joshua, was originally designed by myself, to be my perfect friend and mate (is why I some times draw him in a subby way, where I myself, is more a top.)

Indeed, I was thinking the same thing, he does appear older, less reckless, more devious.. >:)
I think it's in the texture of his fur, it's a bit rougher than before, less fluffy/polished. I kinda like that change though, a few artists are going that way, and it's opening up interesting windows into the imagined. I also say that the slight transparency on his bangs add to it, It's not usually right for a little bit of hair to block what is behind it so completely.

cute tiger butt does seem to be the order of the day, with a side of playful/bashful expression. the proportions seem maybe just a tad off, but I can't see the whole picture on my dinky screen, so it could be that.. but I love it, being clothed leaves that extra something to the imagination.
my guess its a clever tiger ploy to lure his prey in, then when they move on a adorable striped rump, the tiger pounces his prey to the ground and humps him mercilessly.

Well, it's been indeed very good that you've mentioned about the relationship between Josh and yourself. 'cause I'm very sure, that MOST people think YOU to be (!) Josh... but since you are not, it's good to point that out.
Once more a very good version of your BEST character! Josh is not only looking submissive, but also very sexy, cute, innocent (really?) and sweet.
The pose is okay, but the angle is unusual for you. And this is something new, pretty nice!
The colours are very smooth, bright and soft. It's overall a very nice atmosphere.
The little pants is also very sweet, hehehe... it's always interesting to see, how artists manage to dress up characters with a TAIL!
But you have managed it brilliantly. :)
And it's a rather tame picture, also very good!!!!! ^..^

Sounds like your original intentions for Joshua as being a mate rather than being your fursona is quite similar to the approach I take with my characters. Shame that many people I speak to just don't seem to understand how (or indeed why) that works.
Still, stunning picture as ever, Zen. I've not really seen you do this type of clothing before.

Your cats are absolutely sexy, without a doubt some of the best ones I've seen in the fandom. Josh is no exception to my statement.
I love his sleevless hoodie and those jade eyes of his . . . yep. His tail is connected to the most beautiful tiger butt I've seen. I'd love to give it a little pinch so bad, but touchy, only looky. His scarlet hair flows wonderfully over his face and the smile on his lips are very inviting. Wonderful job as usual if you ask me. I also detect a slight bulge in his speedoes, perfectly yummy. Close to flawless, and I really am trying to be a critic about it.

I gotta say, I'm REALLY liking this more mature look to Joshua. I noted that in the last one, I think, but this one is showing him in his 20's or so... not so lanky and short-furred, but showing his more maturing facial fur and features.
I almost dare say that the more cutesy stuff doesn't quite fit him anymore.. he's just looking more mature and.. sell.. sexy. :D
Joshua has left his childhood behind and is entering adulthood. Congrats! XD

Absolutely amazing work, Zen. This is definitely going as my wallpaper, if you don't mind. :3 The only thing is that I have one of those ridiculously hirez monitors (1920x1200) so I'm seeing just a bit of distortion when using this pic as a wallpaper, do you happen to have a bigger version? I'm willing to pay :P (both jokingly, and seriously)

I think that cheek fur style has been done before probably in cartoons but it does look better than it's usually done.

i love fur, especially red fur, oh i just love the way it feels! although i prefer scales and lizards and fish and frogs, you just make this tiger look just so... good! oh why do you have to use your art for evil! then again evil is sexy... love it! it reminds me of my friend joshua! *sigh* he gotted cancer.
