Two minutes. I have two minutes to take solar filter glasses off and get all the shots I want. 45 seconds of that was spent staring in awe, after which point I discovered all the problems with my setup and panicked, but managed to get a handful of good shots anyway.
This is the nine low exposure shots manually-aligned into an HDR to show more detail of the corona.
That being said...
No photo can ever capture the feeling of being there in person. That was just... that was absolutely awesome. I almost have regrets from spending even a second poking the camera, but not really. The fading light and then sudden plunge into comparative darkness, like going from a stormy day to predawn. Then to look up and see this hanging in the sky. I'm a writer, but for all I do, I can't bring forth the words to describe this without realizing how utterly insufficient they are.
If you ever have an opportunity to go see a total eclipse in person, -TAKE IT-. Don't fuss with camera or video. Just look up. Feel. Exist. When you have to look away because it's over, it's over, but that moment will be burned in your memory in a way that no photo can ever compare to.
This almost made me weep for the people who had clouds.

I woke up at 4am and left at five for a 59-mile drive to the totality strip. That was fine.
Left to return home at 11:11 am. Google tracked a good chunk of the trip as riding my bike because I got home around 8 pm.
Totally worth it. Utterly worth it. Do it. Drive. Drive like the wind.
