Most of the rework is focused on like. Bringing them in line with the mood of everything elses, focusing on how they're prepubescent queens.
So like mentally crown crab hosts are like, a merger the host mind with the crown crab's instinct. For example: The reason good hives don't use them is that if you want a crown crab to live more than a couple years, you need to feed them like a new queen. Imagine needing to feed multiple 2000+ lb weight lifters. Still dangerous to undo, and more mind affecting than a succubat, but you're basically the same person, except now you reflexively start to react when someone calls you a good girl, or throws a stick, or whatever.

I mean, the point is they don't care what you say you are, they have gender detection powers.
So for example someone who thinks and says they are a man, but has dysphoria without realizing it, would still get female bats. You can't just say you change your mind because they don't speak human words. They're like, cat smart.
But yes, someone who is agender, in a way that isn't conveniently represented by a bat, would be just as immune as this peep.

Speaking of fluid (and half an hour checking out the subjects’ galleries) I suppose that also means shapeshifters would be entirely able to hide that they’re a succubat?
Conversely, could a shapeshifter confuse succubats just by pretending to already be one?
Edit: thinking about it more, it obviously varies based on the case.. blueberrysnow’s Mitsuki might, but a nanobot swarm might not

Oh! Oh oh oh, a thought: if there’s ‘bat immunity’ then surely there’s ‘bat super-susceptibility’ or some better term.
So if someone whose gender can’t be identified is immune, then would the opposite be the person who can change their physical gender at will, so the bat doesn’t need to worry about being the wrong one?

I'm kind of curious, would Ace/Demi people be immune too then? As in, would the bats ignore people with low to no sex drive? Or would there potentially be bats out there who are on the "grey ace" spectrum so to speak, and just want to nab another host body to tend to their queen?

Oh! Thank you for clarifying! I know you emphasized how the personality of the host remains mostly unchanged, so I was wondering how that would apply to a situation like that.
