great group

can't believe there's that many in Nova Scotia lol.tried to be part of a online group of ns furrs some years ago and my cgi work was quite a issue for them I don't member the name of the group or whatever but when they found out I work in adult art i got a lot of really nasty e-mails ironically it was the virtual equivalent of Frankenstein monster and the villagers with torches;).
i was at halcon and only seen 1 furr sutter and unfortunately didn't exactly do much chatting with them. Whoever it was male or female they had way too much energy for that time of night lol and wear one of the people that basically doesn't speak when they're wearing the suit so it wasn't exactly a point to make conversation lol. i hate to say it but in a picture like this I'd be the one guy not wearing a sout lol. i love the concept but personally not the type to wear one myself but i do like tham.i have a cat head that surprisingly I've been finding very difficult to sale lol. i am sorry I don't get to attend functions like this but 1 i am 40 and 2ed you know it's bad when you're at a bar among probably 50 or 75 scifi geeks and after about an hour in you start to notice everybody is avoiding you completely and basically staying several feet away other than a couple of guys in their 60s and 70s that have had a few. I don't know why but even among my own cind i put some sort of invisible shield off that pushes people a way. Don't know if it's that time uncomfortably wird or my voice or what.i am downright horrible at social situations and I'm afraid it's not getting better with age LOL.love the group picture.it is not down by Peggy's goals by any chance that looks like the park down to words the light has where the old military base used to be but I could be mistaken. Was a fort at some point hundred or so years back to words where the White House is. Kind of ironic how often I'm in Halifax and I still don't get the opportunity to go down there and spend a few hours.

If the online group was the Telegram or Facebook group there is a strict policy against adult artwork being posted due to the number of minors who are also members. We have annual Hal-con furmeets, so I'm surprised you didn't bump into more suiters! Watch for them this year too! :)
There are a LOT of members who don't own or wear fursuits! You would not be in the minority.

I haven't been down to the Peggy's cold area sensed I was 14 or 15.
i was only able to afford to go to the convention on day 1. i was at the dance they had on the first night and ran into somebody wearing a sout whoever they were they were super energetic lol i basically got tired just watching them bounce around like a kid on a sugar rush.thay never spoke somebody explain to me later on that most people never speak when they're wearing a suit.
the group that I signed up to was quite a long time ago itand was what you'd call a Disney attitude. i personally don't mind that fact I just kind of couldn't believe how quickly the pitchforks and torches came out and all the angry e-mails over work that I post here. It was kind of a surprise to get that much hate from a community that's normally so mild and usually accepting of just about everything.i remember seeing some pictures from a picnic they had out at the Dingell and it was a mix of kids with rather uncomfortable looking parents;) and couple dozen people in furr souts . It was just kind of trippy at the time to look at the pictures of what the parents look like hanging around with their kids and;). ive bin a furr most of my life and I predate the furrs on line;) so to say I'm an old fossil is putting it lightly. In my experience most people that are on these kind of groups are usually around 17 too 24 so a 40 year old furr at a furr meet is practically asking to have the host of catch a predator pop up and put his hand on their shoulder. Probably doesn't help matters that I drive a hideous eyesore of a 90's Dodge minivan lol. i like the colors and admittedly a lot of the ingenuity of suits I just don't dress up myself.i keep kicking around the idea of getting a Spiderman and venom sout but I don't think that would go very well at the convention in Halifax .yaa i see that Capt. America and fat Ironman as a few examples but a 40 year old guy wearing a Spiderman outfit would most likely get me Kaser die security if anything.i remember bumping into a queue hard-core Spiderman fan at the bar meeting the night before the convention and whatever I did scared her off within three or 4 min. and my name ispeter Parker you'd think that would've at least given me a foot in the door with a girl wearing a 18th-century outfit with a little name tag that read guan Stacy. Frankly I've never read much of the comics she clearly knew way more than me what I'm familiar with is a couple of the cartoons and movies myself. Just kind of funny that when you don't fit in with a room full of drinking age sci-fi geeks you know you've got a be seriously screwed up lol.

Most fursuiters don't talk in fursuit, but some do :)
Often they will have a handler with them, which is a person who helps keep them safe. Sometimes they will speak for the person in the suit.
That's unfortunate, but the group is full of minors and has rules that members are to follow. If you posted adult artwork that may have been the reason. Just because we are a furry community does not mean that everything is acceptable, there are rules in place that must be followed, like in any group of people.
The local group never had a meetup at Dingeltower, but maybe you're thinking of the photoshoot at Point Pleasant.
Like most costumers, "normies" (people who aren't invovled in the fandom, or sci-fi groups) may find costuming in public "weird". Too bad for them! XD
Quite a large number of Halifax furs are over 30 years old, but we have had an influx of younger furs in recent years, which has been amazing to see! The Halifax group has been around since its Yahoo days in the 90's.
I think pretty well anyone in cosplay/costumes would be welcomed at Halcon! You should try dressing up, it's really fun!

point I was trying to make is well you can imagine what a 40-year-old person would look like in a Spiderman suit or venom suit especially if like myself they look like they're pregnant with a alien baby. I just don't know if middle-age out of shape Spiderman is something aloud at conventions. Recently tried getting a Spiderman themed personalized late for my car and every Spiderman term I can think of somebody has Artie used as a license plate in Nova Scotia didn't realize there was that many Spiderman fans lol.

I never heard of the thing about somebody in a furr sout going with a handler. Like I keep trying to explain I'm horrible at social stuff And seems I am getting worse with age.
the group that I've are member back when I tried to be a member had a gathering at the Dingell or the park in around the Dingell there were several pictures if I were member correctly taken around it and others were taken at the park. I don't think it had anything to do with me posting pictures in the group I don't think I ever posted any. You're talking about several years back and if I were member correctly one of them found out about my artwork over here and basically it set off a bunch of people sending me angry personal e-mails. I've always been the type of basically whatever somebody feels is what they feel and it was the first time I had a situation like that among other furrs . The fellow I seen at the sci-fi convention is the first time I've met somebody in person wearing a furr sout in Halifax. I've seen people end up in some bad spots wearing a cross play out fit in the past. I still are member driving by a bus stop in one of the ghetto districts around seven o'clock at night and there was a girl wearing a Disney princess style snow white outfit were talking Disney kingdom type outfit standing at a bus stop in a really bad part of the city lol. I'm sure you can imagine what automatically popped into my head because at that point that particular street was a handful of working girls that would use the bus and taxi stops on a couple of block area till the cops got wise to it. Was one of those circumstances I wish I could've gotten a picture ;).the furr in the sout I think had something similar to a Star Fox uniform on or some sort of fighter pilots uniform can't really remember .frankly wanted to get a picture with the person but they kind of disappeared really quickly.i managed to get a few little gag pictures like me standing next to a replica of a darlick in rainbow colors and a Photoshop picture that I posted of me standing by the TARDIS at bad Wolf Bay. Frankly it's the only convention I've ever gotten to I don't get to go to places like Toronto and New York.

I am curious as to whom may have turned you away on the year you speak of as I am quite positive that myself, Altenia, AirGuItAR or FuzzyDrake would have taken great exception to not having someone involved in the NSFWTFBBQ because Fark Drama, we were there at the BBQ to have a party, cook meats and have good friends close by at a great party.

it was before or after a meet up that was at the Dingell and were talking several years ago I can only vaguely remember the whole 9 yards.it was a Nova Scotia furr group I don't think from here directly I can't remember even if it was Facebook or yahoo or wear!!! at that point I think I was still driving the red Jeep like I said it was several years ago.i seen pictures from where they had their barbecue on the Internet afterwards. i basically was a member of the group for maybe eight hours lol.i sind up and if I remember correctly what originally started the whole flame war was a CGI picture I did of Spiderman with a my Little pony furry style characters sitting on his lap like I said this was quite a while ago one of my really early CGI works and i believe that was the picture that started everybody screaming . At any rate some picture that one of them found led them to my work here which is adult and within a couple hours I had people sending me angry e-mails and such went on for a couple hours and if Ira member correctly I got removed from the group because they were very adamant about they were strictly a family-friendly pg group and they didn't have any members who had anything to do with the adult furr art community it was basically reminding me of the whole fiasco in the early 2000's when Disney decided to go completely pc and wanted nothing to do with anything that was remotely controversial or in any way could be deemed adult. Quite a few of them like I said were really angry about the Spiderman picture I forget if it was Spiderman sitting on the horse characters lap or vice versa nobody was naked lol but it kind of stuck out in my mind because so many people were quite serious about how adult picture looked and like I said there was nobody with exposed nudity.it was something I had never experienced before with a group of furrs and part of what made it stick out in my memory was a few people that had been nice to me initially when I first joined as soon as the Foss started they got quite vocal about being mad at me for being what was wrong with the furr community and making everybody else look bad. Basically I had heard before of the community having two sides one side being your Disney pc side of things and the other side being more mainstream evre 1's kind of quiet and happy and knows what goes on behind some of the closed doors I suppose is the easiest way to put it. I don't really like even going on about it too much because I don't remember which group it was and I don't want to start any trouble a second time. I don't think the group was from here because what I remember is they found my work here because I use the same name on every site that I signed up to it's not like I hide anything.i have not been able to do CGI work for about two years due to a couple of problems.

With what happened when I went to the meeting before the convention in Halifax where it was a group of 100 or so of us at a bar i like I kind of expected just didn't do wall lol.had a lot of I suppose you'd call it social anxiety but I don't think that's the right word just as I've gotten older I've gotten worse and worse at blending in with crowds. When I was younger I was the guy at the party that was always straight and sober when everybody else was making a fool of themselves on one drug or another war too much liquor and that after a couple years got me completely exiled from that particular scene lol and its still lkike that i dont do wall in groups
