Practicing my body style before I give it a rest for the night.
My hands killing me. I've been struggling a ton with my style.
For, like, the past few months - namely the body.
My faces are fine, it's the legs and arms/hands that just...
give me a really big problem. They're so stiff and just don't fit me.
What do you guys think of this?
It's the style I drew in back in like... 2014/2015.
It's kinda like my chibi style, but more proportionate.

Thank you! I love the chunky and angular feel to it. I always have.
Its something I doodle alone and in my sketchbook.
But I really never did it outside of that because of clients and my nervousness of style changing.
But I'm hoping it doesn't interfere with people wanting my work.
I think most people commission me for the expression and colors anyway, haha.

I know this pose seems stiff; but I'm referring to how diverse in poses my chibis are to like regular fullbody work I do (rarely it seems like; I try to avoid it because of that very reason). When I do this type of style and proportions I can make such diverse expressive movement with the characters bodies. Perhaps it's just me - I'm sure no one else has that problem to my extent. I like the cartoony and exaggerated style and anatomy. I'm looking forward to working with it more. Finally.
I don't think I'd be comfortable with that. It is my style/art after all. 😅
But you can google things like "animaniacs","looney toons", and "Disney furries".
That's kind of the thing I have going here.

I don’t think this would even look chibi if you went for a more “realistic/idealistic” face or what not. Or at least if you showed me this and some of your chibi art I wouldn’t think they were the same. I really like how you do legs. They seem so realistic compared to what I’m doing right now. I find it hard to find a nice balance between human and animalistic structure and I always feel like artists “break the shins” of anthros.
Yeah, I intend to do the faces like this:

I mean there's a clear difference between this and a chibi of course. My chibis are really compact and bubbly.
People always used to call me a general "chibi" aritst though, even it looking like this.
I consider these more cartoony proportions more than anything tbh!
I grew up on like old animated disney movies/shows (pooh, robin hood, oliver and company, etc) and looney toons.
So I guess thats why anatomy like this is just... easier?
