I was thinking puppy after I wrote that but that's a lot of canines I feel biased.
Also he could have his ears up when he's excited and down when he's depressed so that would definitely work. Actually if you look at how he acts around Haruhi he's so protective, that is rather dog-like.
Oh yeah how about Shiro, Nekozawa and Kasanoda?
Shiro appears as a mouse in the alice in wonderland-esque episode so I guess that works. Nekozawa... well he's actually quite handsome so what would go well with both how he really looks and how he normally looks? I have no idea. I think Kasanoda would be a good raccoon.
Well I think that's just about all the recurring/major male characters. What do you think? Oh also, Honey's brother would also be a rabbit (a brown one).
