This is a digital project I have been working on for some time. It was done over several late night sessions. I had a lot of fun with it. There is a story attached to it and I may make it part of a series, but that will depend on time and motivation. I always have a ton of art ideas. In the meantime, enjoy! :)

Thank you very much! It was fun working on all the different textures and materials. The fur, clouds, steel, and leather each needed their own techniques. I'm used to doing fairly quicky character sketches for suit designs, so something this complex was a cool challenge. It took a lot of patience and fiddling, but it was also a lot of fun!
I can never grasp how much paitence that'd require. Amazing that you can. I am very impressed with the fur in particular. How the wind and sunlight plays with the fur. It's absolutely mind blowing! I tried to fur a few times to kinda try it out, but direction, shade and layers, really just messed up for me. Your skills are devine, my friend!
I did have a story idea with this picture. In very short - this is character is a warrior who has decided to grow beyond his violent ways. The idea is that he is seeking Shamballa (Shangri-la) - a hidden city/state of enlightenment. It's a pretty simplistic premise, but it did give a general guide for the design of the jewel and such.
Thank you! The pendant is themed around tibetan culture. The idea is that it is acting as a guide. It is showing him "the Way" to Shamballa and enlightenment. That's where the name of the picture came from. It's kind of a fantasy interpretation of the mythology of Shangri-la.
Fine work!! Do more!!! husband! ;3
Watching this from start to finish was a learning process for me as much as it was for you, Can't wait for the next pic. Your skills will constantly be evolving after this point, the next piece will be a testament to what you have learned here :D
