Uchawi is a member of the royal family from the zebra nation. The youngest son to the king. When visiting a nation with his father he is often showered with gifts and tours of the country. However, it's always clear that everything is completely staged. Filled with fake people, fake smiles, and fake personalities. He constantly craves the real experiences of the countries he visits. Eat food the average citizen eats, dance to music that isn't the same posh type, see the country side, and "mingle" with the locals.
So he's now developed a habit of abandoning his detail to travel the country completely unhindered by his escorts. This has given him a reputation of being a massive handful and someone to keep constant watch on. Details, security, and pressure got worse and worse, making it harder and harder for him to escape.
Until he went to Equestria. His father was to be there for potential trade discussions. However, Uchawi decided to go ahead to "scout out" the accommodations. The King knew what Uchawi was doing so he sent a letter well ahead of time to warn the Princesses of his son's early arrival. The Princesses were not fully aware of what Uchawi's reputation really meant.
He was given the full treatment like usual and met with Princesses Celestia, Luna, and Twilight. They greeted him like normal and had a very light detail around him. Uchawi picked up on this and waited patiently. During the tour of the castle he was able to simply depart to the restroom and hope out the window. It took the Princesses 30 minutes before they found out he had escaped.
Now completely free he is travelling across Equestria. Enjoying the country and it's people ;) to it's fullest.
His family gave him a bracelet that has awaken the magic within him. Giving him similar control of magic as a unicorn would. However, it has affected his biology. As his tattoos glow at night and his eyes glow when he using magic, deeply emotional, or aroused.
