These are HO (1/87) scale 19th-century style brass locomotive whistles!
Several years ago I made brass whistles for my two 4-4-0 engines using a drill, a razor saw, some needle files, and a bit of brass rod. The other day, I decided to see just how much better I could make one now that I have a watchmaker's lathe and tons more experience with metals! Lately I've been trying to see how quickly I could make them. I also need to figure out how to add a valve lever so they'll look better.
