It is a choose-your-own-adventure game with the twist of you get to write what happens next if there an entry missing, so its had a number of collaborators over the years, and still gets an edit every few months.

It's also difficult to play as Writing dot Com usually every few passages puts up this page saying: "Interactive Stories are temporarily unavailableto visitors and free members." to encourage people to buy premium membership. I'd encourage getting something like Twine (available here: https://twinery.org/ ) and copying and pasting chapter entries if you don't want a premium subscription. If you're copying and pasting, put the options in the bottom of the passage around [[ ]] and it'll create a new passage automatically for you to copy the next chapter into. Allowing you to go back and play the game without interruption.
