After playing Link's Awakening, I recalled an event where Marin went to the Wind Fish egg to wish to be turned into a seagull so she can leave the island and see the world. That's fair, but Marin's known for her beautiful singing, yet becoming a Seagull... they ain't exactly known for their singing~!
So I thought, what if she made an alternative wish where she could leave the island, and yet still be able to sing... hence this. Granted she won't be able to travel on land, but don't really matter anyway! ^^;
Based her tail and top on the random Mermaid character from the game, and colors stuck close to the game's design over Marin whereas I almost based her off of the Hyrule Warriors version. I definitely spent too much time painting the background, and I was not trying to focus on that... oh, well. you can ignore it! lol

Provides an interesting counterpoint to Andersen's little mermaid myth: what if a landlubber was hampered by their legs in that they would be unable to travel outside their isolated island, such that having a fish tail would instead allow them the freedom to travel wherever they wanted, comparatively speaking?
