Patch stretched out as he awoke in his bed. He's facing backwards, feet on his pillow and head about to fall off the edge, sleeping atop the comforter with the sheets strewn about the floor. "That's... odd. I don't remember going to sleep with the extra limbs last night. Or backwards." He groaned and rolled fully out of bed, still a little wobbly due to a combination of not being a morning dook, and a whole new set limbs to grapple with.
Of course, you might expect a more alarmed reaction to suddenly waking up as a taur- I mean, half his confusion's the position he woke up in and not having a whole extra body? Well the reality was, this whole 'spontaneously waking up in a new form' situation is a common occurrence, ever since that fateful day the curse begun.
On the flipside, the polydactyl limbs- six-fingered hands and six-toed feet- seem to have been something Patch was just born with, doctors having commented on how wild of a coincidence it is to have such an affliction on every limb. At least it meant he was already sort of used to hiding his weird mutations in public, but a whole taur body? That might be a bit of a challenge. But hey, taurs are an entire 1% of the population. That's not so weird! And it's... totally normal for someone who wasn't one before to be one now... right?
