
I shared the art a little while back, but since I plan on doing a little bit of light tweaking and changing to some things, I figure I can show off the first card layout concept.
As the image says, this is NOT a final layout or final card design. This is a rough layout test, with some minor early stylisation to see what I might like for the actual final design. However, let me explain a few things seen here, and some of the changes!
- The top bar across the top is the card name box. Pretty standard.
- Just to the right is the card type, in this case, a creature card.
- The next line down to the left is the sub-type.
- To the right of the sub-type is the energy cost to summon the creature. This is changing, heavily
- The middle has the art. (pretty okay for a quick piece)
- The bottom contains all info relevant to battle.
- The top bar is the ability name, in this case, Salvage.
- To the right of that is a small space for a symbol, like a set symbol. I am still undecided if I want to do that considering the project scale.
- Just below the ability name is the ability description.
- Below the ability is a battle ability. These have an energy cost, and are either Magic or Melee (symbol shown is Melee). The Magic or Melee idea has since been scrapped.
- Bottom right is the Attack/Defense stats
- And lastly, flavour text on the bottom. May not be on all finished cards.
Is it smart for me to be posting all this info publicly? Probably not, but I neither plan on mass producing or making this trademarked. It's all in good fun, plus I like knowing what people think, so I can tweak things, and maybe even come up with new ideas.
Hopefully people are excited, or at least are interested to see where this goes. I know I am, and it's so much fun!
