she is doing her job but with the motivation and attitude of rotten zombie that hates everyone around her.
regardless if this is by accident or not. she is doing a horrible job at representing the values of the businesses or institution she is a member of.
i use to work half time at Costco . my coworkers would get all the time in trouble by accident for being unable to hide the fact that they been having a bad day in front of the costumer. (basically they were accidentally being rude to the clients.)
yeah there were a lot of cases of the client being the ones acting like morons on their own. but not all cases are "just doing their job"

No legally operating daycare center will allow a child to be taken from their facility by a "non-parent" or guardian without prior approval. Several kidnappings (usually by a spouse) have happen in the past. There would be procedures if a parent cannot pick up their child. Otherwise family services would have to be called. There also should have been a secondary person on file that can pick up the child. Guess this daycare center does not run very efficiently.
Since the shared living arrangement is sorta a new situation. They may not have had her listed as emergency pickup/contact. I mean yes the situation and attitude comes off as shitty. But it's kinda clear to see why and how the situation has unfolded as it does. Definitely not the receptionist's fault personally, unless they are ignoring some guideline we don't know of.
Lots of people in the comments are ripping on this lady for being a bitch or a bureaucrat. I’m a parent of two boys, and I simply would not let them attend a school that didn’t have basic security like this. Period. And yes, this is *basic* security. If I wasn’t 100% sure that their school wouldn’t let the kids go home with a random stranger, they wouldn’t step foot in that building.
She might seem to be unkind about it, and she could stand to be more diplomatic. However, take note that she’s protecting the children for potential kidnappers and not doing anything that would endanger the children or overly inconvenience anyone: schools have protocols for children who are unable to be picked up, including involving Child Services, who—contrary to popular myth—exist to take care of children.
Please don’t think that these protocols are bad. They’re not; to the contrary, they are *crucial*.
