Oh yeah i can see that! Orangey tones and blues are just an A+ color palette to be honest, just absolutely one of the best.
As for how adoptables work, essentially an artist creates a design that they sell to somebody and in doing so the person who bought it gets full rights and can then use them however they wish including reselling them!
Some artists have certain rules about buying them or how you can use them especially if they're a closed species, although most of them that I see are just basic respect like "don't claim you came up with the design", "don't change it too much from what the original was", "don't resell them for more than you bought them for unless there's been art added to them (because that increases their value)"
The last example especially is very understandable from my perspective, and one that I personally ask people buying my designs to respect as well because there are lots of people out there who will go and find really cheap designs and then sell them for twice as much or more immediately to make a quick buck and it's not fair to the original artist. It feels really good to sell a design but it would hurt to know they just turned around and sold it again for twice what they bought it for y'know?
It's really neat though and there's quite a few folks who make their living by selling adoptables. I follow a handful on here and on instagram who are really talented- they're constantly inspiring me to work on my character creation with their color choices and designs!
