[Mystery Design] - Nightweaver - Nocturne
Second for the day! Will be swapped out later when the bio area is figured out at the client's lesiure.
Interestingly I was waffling around with what to do when I designed this particular palette for the advert, as I didn't want to inadvertently mimic any of the others on the sheet as a kind of 'alt coloration'. Surprisingly it lends well for an avian body plan!
- When it comes to Mythic x Natural themes, gryphons are a pretty prominent creature type as they blend feline and avians, and really deviate in individual appearances. Not to mention I don't see enough gryphons floating around, so it was a fairly good pick for this one.
- Falcon - ties into the statement above, and was part of the deciding factor in picking this particular species of mythic over say, a Roc or Thunderbird, or other avians that are known in world mythology.
- Long - This one is more of a subtle addition in that falcons already have rather long profiles, being in a relative to your family parakeet. So for this one I decided to keep the palette running lengthwise to the body, added streamers onto the tail fan, and a long neck for striking out when attacking prey.
- Sudden - Probably the most challenging component to include in this particular design, and decided in the end to apply it to the biology aspect with both hunting style, and a bright orange 'BACK OFF' mouth color seen in some bird species (particularly with the young, but that serves a different function than in adults - look at some species of bird-of-paradise who use this feature as a means of getting the attention of females they're courting).
-This design came from this palette group! If you're interested in getting one, there's still one available, and stay tuned for the next batch! -
