I dont want to loose them.
A couple of months ago my chickens got ill, their faces had swollen up, their breathing got heavy and labored and they struggled to eat/drink for themselves. We had to siring feed the weaker ones for weeks and eventually after a lot of different med's from the vet we were finally given the correct medication and they strated to recover. However during the time it took to find the right medication we lost two of our babies. Scrappy the tiniest of your group and Scooby our small but mighty leader. We were devastated and couldn't bare it.
Then about a week ago, Blue, our giant blue maran, Went missing. We have had girls go missing before and they came back so we hoped she would return. But our suspicions about her being taken by a predator were confirmed when 2 days ago A commotion happened outside and I ran out to find all my chickens screaming, a pile of feathers on the floor and my boy Eugene missing. We searched everywhere but couldn't find him. And we realized they're not coming back.
Scrappy was a tiny little thing but had a huge personality. she was almost bald but didnt seem to care and strutted her stuff like the rest. An inspirational little girl x She was only one and a half
Scooby was the small but might leader of our flock and he did an amazing job, he fought hard and he was strong, he was a trouper even in illness x He was only 1 and half x
Blue was one of the newer members of our group and she was an giant who loved her food, and loved her sisters and i loved her x she was 6 months old x
And then theres Eugene. Eugene was 7 years old, a big, handsome boy who hatched wild, he was afraid of people but over the years I had earned his trust and watched him grow up in to friendly, handsome boy who loved to eat from my hand. we believe he gave his life to protect his friends x hes my hero x He was my boy, he was my joy <3 And i will miss him immeasurable
I loved them all so much and I miss them so much x
I know people wont read this but if you do I'm Sorry for the ramble. think i just need to get it out.
Thank you

This... Hit me like a ton of bricks. My chickens are my babies and last year we had an issue with a fox coming in and taking them. We lost almost all of my ducks, two heritage turkeys, and a cluster of chickens before my heritage bronze turkey hen drug it over an acre, fighting the whole way, to where I was feeding my horses and could finally hear her distress calls. I threw my flip flop at it and screamed "BAD DOG!" like an idiot, but it let go and she was able to run between my legs and into the barn and I was able to follow it back to where it went to ground.
Turkey hen made it. She has a bad limp and is missing 60% of one thigh/drum stick. Fox was trapped and now lives at a wildlife sanctuary where he cannot harass chickens ever again.
