Summary: Sprout Vanir, or simply, Sprout, is a small inagami from the Misty Peaks, who currently resides in Dundorma, the Capital of the Old World. There, he runs a clinic which offers relatively cheap services, due to the fact that he can use his floramancy abilities to grow all the medicinal herbs and plants he needs to make all kinds of different medicines. He is a calm, pacifistic, level headed dragon, who excels at multitasking, and is quite possibly the best medical practitioner in the Old World! This fact is often overlooked, unfortunately, as prejudice against monsters leads to frequent vandalizations, rumors, and generally bad business. Despite this, he’s kept his clinic afloat with relative ease, due to his ability to grow supplies, and his infrequent eating. He is 137 years old.
Physical Appearance: Sprout is really just an inagami who suffers from dwarfism, although due to lots of practice, he’s achieved things many others of his species would consider impossible. He also lacks the spikes that other inagami have, which is arguably better for him. His golden fur is soft, and somewhat bristly, and rather quite dense, however, there’s also a layer of fine brown hairs where the golden fur isn’t present, making it difficult to see each individual scale. On his snout rests a pair of gold rimmed eyeglasses with circular lenses. These glasses were specially designed for Sprout, and the arms hook around his horns, as opposed to his ears. He cannot see without these glasses. He is a rather measly 1036 centimeters, or 34 feet long, and half of this length is just his tail. He’s small enough to fit through conventional doors, so long as he ducks down and pulls himself inwards. Standing up, his head sits at an imposing nine feet off the ground, easily towering over any humans.
Abilities: Sprout only needs to eat once a week, and even when he does, it is a rather light meal. He smells of basil, rosemary, thyme, freshly cut grass, and bamboo shoots. He can speak fluent English due to decades of studying, but he still retains an odd accent, somewhere between growling, snarling, and an east-asian accent. Due to plenty of practice, he also has prehensile control of his tail, and the flower-bud like tip that opens up into four ‘petals’. Since he can open and close this rather quickly, and the tail has a wide range of movement, it effectively acts as an extra limb he can use to grab onto things. Of course, like all inagami, he can use his tail to control the growth of nearby plants, although through practice, he’s fine tuned this ability to act like an endoscope, and stitch wounds together with vines. He is left handed, and the claws on his left paw are razor sharp, which he uses as a scalpel or as a knife when creating herbal medicines.
Behavior and Habits: Sprout is very kind, but very anxious. He has been known to stress over things to the point where he becomes completely unproductive. He pretends to dislike being pet, as he sees it as demeaning, but it’s an excellent way to calm his nerves. He often fidgets when staying still, he’s easily distracted, and more than likely has ADHD of some sort. When working on a potion or anything that requires multiple steps, he excels at juggling tasks in a timely manner, bolting around the room calmly, and confidently. However, speaking to new people is oftentimes a struggle for him, and the repeated vandalism and name calling from some of the more rude, conservative members of the city slowly but surely chip away at his self esteem. For the most part, however, he perseveres and survives, taking these inconveniences in stride. He is completely pacifistic, and outright refuses to hunt for his own food, preferring to purchase meat instead. If his biology allowed it, he would’ve gone vegetarian long ago…
History: Unlike Horizon, Sprout has a rather rich, yet tragic past. He was disowned by his parents when he refused to comply with their conservative and barbaric views towards humans, and grew up alone. He first found his passion for healing early in life, but his knowledge was crude, and rudimentary. He eventually found a mate, a normal inagami named Belladonna, who loved his work, and shared his views on humans, that not all humans are bad. They were together for a few years before deciding to try for a child. Unfortunately, Belladonna bled out during childbirth, and died. This left Sprout to raise their son, Basil, by himself, but it left him with a motivation to become an even better doctor, seeing Belladonna’s death as a personal failure. All was well for the following nine years, until tragedy reared its ugly head once again. The pair were ambushed by poachers, who beat Sprout within an inch of his life, and abducted Basil. The inagami treated his own injuries, and found that he had difficulty seeing, due to the sheer number of flash bombs the poachers had used. He eventually found Yukumo Village, and approached, slowly, and somberly. He expected to be killed, as he had nothing left to lose, but, for whatever reason, the chief ordered a stand down, and stepped out of the village to confront him. She could sense his pain, and chose to take him in as a new member of the village. Given a new lease on lease on life, everything began looking uphill from here. He learned, and adapted, soon becoming just part of life in the village. Then, when he finally gathered enough zenny, he purchased a property in Dundorma, and opened a clinic, where he now resides today.
Vore: As far as vore goes, Sprout is a very reluctant predator. He’s only barely large enough to swallow a man whole, and does so with a bit of difficulty. He can actually fit up to three people in his stomach, but that would end up giving him a very bad stomach ache, at least for a little while, until his stomach got used to it. In fact, just swallowing a single person gives him a slight belly ache. Despite this, once the stomach ache passes, he does actually find guilty pleasure in the sensations that come with the experience. He greatly enjoys having his stomach rubbed from the inside, especially since it helps ease the stomach aches brought on by swallowing someone. Of course, due to his fairly generous nature, the fact that he’s generally just a doormat, it’s far from difficult to convince Sprout to gulp someone down, if they’re persistent enough.
