Product of a couple ideas... After seeing TF: Animated, I rather like the idea of a Prime being the leader of a 5-bot team. Transformer abilities seem to be unique enough that they'd function really well as small teams in gorilla warfare -ish scenarios. I'm wondering this could work out in a strategy game. Also- i think the 'Transformers Classics' designs were underused.
Jetfire: (Air Support/Scientist) A logical-minded pacifist- Jetfire seems mismatched on this team- and being reduced to the team medic, he would have preferred a more 'civilized' post. With his state-of-the-art systems and exo-armor, Jetstorm is one of the most powerful Autobots. However, his personality leads him to avoid combat, making him unreliable as a heavy-hitter, but adept at providing support. Exo-Armor provides advanced targeting, dual energy cannons, seeker missiles, and shields against EMP and electrical attacks.
Hound: (Tracker) The most experienced member of the team- rumor has it, he even served with Optimus' predecessor, Sentinel Prime. Between an advanced sensor suite and knowing every trick in the book, nothing escapes his notice. Also equipped with holographic projectors, capable of creating multiple decoys. His vehicle mode can handle almost any terrain.
Rodimus: (Leader/Skill) Rodimus is an unusual mix of recklessness and experience- Specializing in unorthodox strategy and high-speed maneuvers. Despite his role as team leader, Rodimus has a tenancy to handle dangerous missions solo, rather than risk his team- willingly getting in over his head. His jetpack can be converted into a photon cannon, tho he prefers to use his more accurate wrist blasters.
Ariel: (Sniper) Light, fast and deadly. Incorporating Omnicon tech, she's able to use energon-weapons. Her Crossbow uses a railgun to extend the range of missiles, and an advaced targeting system which can paint targets for heavy artillery.
Overload: (Heavy Armor/Artillery) Strong and silent- there is some speculation whether Overload even HAS a speech processor. He appears to be a cross between a Minicon and Headmaster. Robot mode is incredibly durable, massive, and physically strong. Trailer mode can link with Optimus or Rodimus for rapid deployment. And Artillery mode is capable of long range shelling and heavy firepower. However, Overload's main weakness is that his core Minicon is exposed in trailer and artillery mode.

Thx ^^
Yeah- I used Universe Hound, which I thought was a great homage to the original G1 cartoon character. Had a hard time deciding between him or Mirage (invisibility) for the stealth aspect of this team.
D'OH! I forgot to get someone with EMP weapons on this team!! Heh, seriously- the G1 Transformers were WAY ahead of the curve on creative weaponry.

Yeah... I remember seeing one episode involving time-travel where... I forget who used acid rounds to dissolve the handguns of some old west cowboys that were trying to steal the motorcycles off some bikers.
That's about the only thing I do remember for that matter, and even then mostly because it was so out there.

Yeah- got her from Transformers Energon. There were quite a few good points to that series- Optimus turning into a Power Rangers Robot, obviously, was NOT one of them. <.<;; They DID change Ariel's name to Arcee for the english translation- as they did for MOST of the characters. So I tend to change 'em right back. ...Mostly cause i refuse to accept that IRONHIDE was EVER the team Noob!! The name 'Roadbuster' fit that character better anyway.
Yeah- they couldn't even animate a simple walk right. But every once and a while they'd have a clip of REAL animation, and I'd be like: YES! THAT'S HOW YOU- aaw, it's over already.
Now, Transformers: Cybertron made me die a little inside. It was like they'd reverted to Creepy Doll Faces!! At least the Final Battle was decent... and had swords...
