As “Bittersweet Symphony” played on the radio, Whisper turned up the volume, her claws idly tapping on the steering wheel as she coasted along the quiet road. She was in no hurry to get to where she was heading: the weather was nice and hardly anyone was on the road this morning. She needed groceries, so she wanted to get an early start before everyone woke up-
She had just finished another week of work and was about to unwind the best way she knew how to do: doing absolutely nothing. Those plans were rudely interrupted last night when she realized she had no food in her frig. Grumbling and swearing to herself, she decided to go ahead and get her shopping over with early the next day so she could spend the rest of the weekend relaxing as originally planned.
However, as she drove around town in her blue Thunderbird, she realized how nice it felt to get out for the day. Diverting from her original plan, she decided to have a “me day” to herself: a trip to the nearby park for a quiet walk, grab a hot chocolate and donuts from her favorite coffee shop, and THEN grocery shopping.
With her hair freely blowing in the morning breeze, she decided to take a detour and go bother one of her friends. She glanced at her smartwatch: 0614. They were probably still asleep since it was Saturday and most normal people slept in on the weekends-
She probably should call and let him know she was on her way over. Glancing down at her phone, she shrugged and tossed it back on the passenger’s seat. Nah. He won’t mind…probably. If he did, tough luck; she was coming over anyway!
With a mischievous grin on her face, she sped towards her friend’s house. She decided rather than call and wake him up, she was just going to blow her car honk until he got out of bed and answered the door-
“Hmm, I wonder if he will make me breakfast too; I’m hungry.” Taking another sip of her hot chocolate, she hurried to her friend’s house.
What? Don’t y’all give me that look!
Her friends always complain that she never spends enough time with them. She was up, why not go get them so they could hang out…at the crack of dawn!
Whisper is terrible! My gosh her poor friends, LOL.
Actually I’m just as bad in real life so…yeah. Sorry to all my friends in real life: you all knew what you were getting into when you met me, so it's your fault too for putting up with my texts at 4 and 5am.
Speaking of, I want to thank the artist behind this piece: sheldondober. She has such a cute style and was a joy to work with- she showed me every step of the creation process- from start to finish! Highly recommended, thank you so much~
