A lot of folk turned in some good acronyms for the Chaperone’s age telling device there over on twitter. At this point in the story I think it’s just called a gizmo or a whatchamacallit.

It'd probably be funniest if it actually was called a What-Cha-Ma-Call-It, at least unofficially -- perhaps with the initials of WCMCI that spell out some longer, more complicated technical name that basically nobody without five engineering degrees can reliably pronounce.
