I would vote for Volcano to be be remade today... not Dante's Peak. To me Dante's Peak is STILL very watchable and does not look very dated at all, except some of the vehicles.
Volcano however, was interesting in its special effects, however the writing was horrible, and a lot of the actors lines fell flat like a bad anime dub. Tomy Lee Jones was it's saving grace. However update the story, maybe put it in a more intersting city like say.... NYC and we have a movie that I would get behind a remake of. Oh yeah and to piss off the anti-woke mob make it an all girl cast.... no seriously no guys on film at all. <-- read that last part sarcastically as a joke.
